If the civil rights movement never happened, would minorities still be treated the same way today?

Historically in the world their have been many groups of people who have suffered from severe forms of oppression (use context clues for this word). I would love to say that in time the Unites States would have seen fit to reform the legislation that discriminated against people. However, I don't believe much would've changed without those people that stood up for the change.

I think that they wouldn't because the civil rights gave black people their rights and the civil rights changed alot of things too.

If the civil rights movement never happened minorites would still be treated the same today because whites would treat anyone harshly if they wern't the same color. Whites and blacks didn't get along very well but I didn't know minorites didn't get along etheir.

I don't think so because all of the rights for non-whites (and other religions) came from the civil rights movement.

What would have happen if martin luther king did not do nothing abot black people going to black schools and white are going to white schools and what would happen if he did not do the i have a dream speech we would still be living living the same am i right or what?

I think that the civil rights movement was very important in the creation of laws that gave minorities more rights. Without the movement, I don't think that those changes would have taken place.

NO minorities would NOT be treated the same because if people like Martin Luther King, or Rosa Parks did not take a stand they would still be treated unfairly.

If the civil rights movement did not happen black people whould still be treated in a opressed horrible way.

If the Civil Rights movement never happened we think minorities would still be treated unfairly. Nobody would have taken a stand for Civil-Rights. So if the Civil-Rights movement never happened things would still be very racial because there would be signs saying "whites" and "colored". It wasn't just minorities fighting for Civil-Rights it was everybody who wanted equality.

I think they would not because the civil-rights changed alot of things like the school that colored can go to now makes a big difference. Like Martin Luther King and Harried Tubman had the guts to make a stand!!!

I think that minorities would not be treated the same because people would soon realize that it doesn't matter if your black, white, mix, or anything else. I think it doesn't matter what color skin you are because we are all people.

I think minorities would not be treated the same because I can guess the whites would soon realize it does not matter about your skin color it matters about the person in the inside.

I think if Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. should have never got killed our world would be even better then it is today and everybody would be treated even more fairly. I wish Martin was still around today because he would make sure that every body was treated the same. Some of us wouldn't even be friends. I'm also friends with a lot of black people today as well as whites but I feel that since the I Have A Dream speech everything has been fair.

Minorities would have positively been treated the same way. Every single person would have been put into a school that had olny their people in the school. So if the civil rights never happened we wouldn't know the people we know today.

I think there would not still be slavery if the sivil rights never happened because we are advansed beings and sooner or later we would figure out that slavery is WRONG!!!!!!!!
